An Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling foodservice goods and services to our Customers, as well as generating and following up on new Customer leads. They’re primarily responsible for support and developing opportunities of existing assigned Customers and prospect new sales opportunities from an office setting.
Responsibilities
Respond in a timely manner to incoming phone, email, and web inquiries, as well as to leads generated by marketing, promotions, and sales executives to provide high-quality lead generation.
Act as primary point of contact for requests for information and general follow up activities.
Develop and execute business plans to add new accounts, drive penetration and increase sales and profitability of existing accounts.
Provide a high level of service to our Customers during order placement, needs evaluations and in providing solutions, ensuring a smooth sales process.
Demonstrate products using samples.
Oversee and manage set up of new Customer accounts, scheduling of deliveries, order placement and price quotes.
Investigate and resolve Customer concerns and issues.
Develop and maintain relationships with other IFD personnel.
Respond to all requests from management and sales, for action or information, in a professional and timely manner.
Adhere to company’s principles and values.
Work Relationships and Scope Service all accounts in accordance with prescribed procedures and programs. Work with DSR's, management, office and warehouse personnel in resolving problems associated with products, service etc. Convey a favorable company image to the trade and general public. Performance Measures Utilize and apply all professional selling tools available at IFD. This includes, but is not limited to product catalogs, customer usage reports, current sales and point of sales data and product information books as well as office equipment such as calculators, copy machine and computers and printers.
Accomplish, on an annual basis, further education, training, and enrichment which contributes to the success and continued improvement of the job functions and enhances job performance. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policy. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales numbers, demonstrating the ability to drive consistent revenue growth and profitability. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Foodservice experience and knowledge of the food industry; minimum 2 years’ experience or B to B requested. Foodservice experience may include, but not limited to chef, foodservice management, foodservice sales, food broker.

Easily ‘talks shop’ regarding basic foodservice principles and information such as food costing, menu planning, inventory control, etc.
Experienced with computers and proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Accurate data entry skills and familiar with CRM software, including sales dashboards.
Can apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical foodservice situations.
Possess reliable transportation, ability to obtain automobile insurance, and hold a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry.
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Self-motivated and goal oriented.
Ability to work independently or part of a cohesive team.
Working Conditions Work is normally performed in a typical interior office environment. Hours of work may vary to include Sundays and holidays; therefore, candidate must be flexible in scheduling. There may be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Limited physical effort required. Very limited exposure to physical risk.
