System Administrator

Reports to: President
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Position Summary: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines. This includes network, hardware, software, communications, and security. Oversee and lead the work of a small group of people within the department. Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within the business unit. 
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the long term and daily operation and maintenance of all systems:
  • Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and telephone system.
  • Monitor and maintain network to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
  • Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
  • Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
  • Maintain IT staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Oversee IT Department projects and personnel:
  • Cross train in several areas to assist IT staff as needed.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate client network, hardware, and software issues. Set and repair computers including Microsoft Operating systems, Mac products, laptops, tablets, mobile communications, and related devices including multi-function printers, peripherals, etc. 
  • Problem resolution with warehouse, sales, and retail software.
  • Create and maintain network users/permissions.
  • Accountable for data mining and querying accurate data.
  • Research equipment to purchase and make recommendations, as needed.
  • Set up and implement a regular maintenance schedule for hardware and software for end users.
  • Follow and evaluate current technology trends and make necessary suggestions.
  • Plan and budget for all equipment needs and maintenance.
  • Organize and coordinate computer-related training for IFD employees, including creating training guides and maintaining training lists. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Proven background in network, hardware, and software applications. 
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, including verbal, written, and training abilities.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to trouble shoot and solve technical-related problems quickly and efficiently. 
  • Understanding of SQL/C++ programming.
  • Knowledge of Cloud-based systems.
  • Associates degree in a computer related field or minimum of five years relevant experience is required. 
​Performance Measures: 
  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems with hardware and software quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work in cooperation with other IFD team members and maintain positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Accomplish, on a regular basis, further education, training, and enrichment, which contributes to the success and continued improvement of the job functions and enhances job performance.
​Work Relationships and Scope: Will have regular interactions with department managers and IFD employees. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of management.
​Working Conditions: Work is performed in the main office building and warehouse. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours. There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Early morning, evening and weekend work may be required. Business casual attire is required.
