Job Title: CDL Class A Driver Trainee Reports to: Transportation Supervisor Shift: Monday through Friday; 4-5 days/week; this position operates mainly daily routes within Wisconsin and Minnesota. Hours: Most routes leave between 3 a.m. - 5 a.m.; average 10-12 hour days. Wage: $20/hr Must Reside in the Eau Claire Area
Position Summary: Responsible for successfully completing training which leads to a Delivery Driver position. This position is required to drive company vehicles on a set route making deliveries to Customer locations in a timely and professional manner.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver correct products to Customers in compliance with established procedure.
Deliver to Customers in a timely fashion.
Operate company vehicles in compliance with laws and regulations.
Report to work in proper attire, uniform, and footwear.
Correctly complete all paper work as required.
Responsible for accounting of cash and collections from Customers.
Responsible for daily vehicle inspections and reporting safety and maintenance concerns to supervisor.
Responsible for integrity of loading procedure, correct temperatures and proper distribution in truck.
Work in a safe manner considering both personal and public safety.
Conduct work professionally.
Work Relationships and Scope: This position has a close relationship with IFD’s Customers in the delivery of the product both accurately and timely with excellent customer relations in the process. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently and heavier weights occasionally.
Make deliveries in an efficient manner.
Working toward Class A or B CDL and demonstrates ability to perform job functions as needed.
Basic math and grammar skills.
No major driving violations in last 3 years.
Good communication skills.
Must obtain CDL training permit before assuming duties.
Must obtain a DOT medical card and pass DOT drug screen before assuming duties.
Must satisfactorily complete IFD pre-employment requirements.
Working Conditions: This position involves lifting, standing, and ability to drive for long periods of time. Working conditions may vary.
