Job Title: Driver Assistant/Rider Reports to: Driver Supervisor Shift: Monday to Friday; 4 days/week; this position operates mainly daily routes within Wisconsin and Minnesota. Hours: Most routes leave between 3 a.m. - 5 a.m.; average 10-12 hour days. Wage: $20/hr Must Reside in the Eau Claire Area
Position Summary:Responsible for assisting driver with delivering IFD products to customers in a safe, accurate and timely manner to meet IFD quality standards
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Timely and accurate product delivery to customers, following established procedures.
Assist driver in all aspects of delivery.
Guide/spot driver in backing or other vehicle maneuvers when needed.
Performance Measures:
Effectively assist and support the IFD Driver to ensure on-time and accurate delivery and excellent customer relations.
Consistently operate in a safe manner considering both personal and public safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 50-90 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to bend, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach; ability to withstand temperature variations.
Be calm in nature under time pressure and stress.
Be of average or better speed and ability.
Efficiency in delivery of product.
Good communication skills.
Basic math skills.
Must pass security clearance required by IFD customers.
Ability to effectively work with a variety of personalities, conducting yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. English speaking proficiency required.
Working Conditions: This position involves lifting, bending, stooping, standing, navigating stairs, and the ability to sit in a vehicle for extended periods of time. The work environment varies from trailer, cooler and freezers. Proper attire is required.
