Reports To: IT Manager Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wage: $18-$20/hour
Position Summary: The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing hardware & software components of the organization's computers. They should possess experience in administration, support, and mobile communications. Problem-solving skills are required, as well as interpersonal skills which allow for communication with IFD staff and the ability to solve technical-related problems quickly and efficiently. Associate degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience is required.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Support IFD Staff in all necessary functions.
Cross train in several areas to assist IT staff as needed.
Set and repair computers including Microsoft Operating systems, Mac products, laptops, tablets, mobile communications, and related devices including printers, scanners, and peripherals, etc.
Hardware and software support for all employees.
Perform equipment moves including printers, computers, and peripherals.
Ability to perform changes for network connectivity.
Problem resolution with warehouse, sales, and retail software.
Troubleshoot various software issues including Microsoft Office, NetSuite, internet browser, etc.
Create and maintain network users/permissions.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate client network issues.
Organize and coordinate computer-related training for IFD employees, including creating training guides and maintaining training lists.
Oversee installation, maintenance, and support of software upgrades for employees.
Research equipment to purchase and make recommendations, as necessary.
Setting up and implementing a regular maintenance schedule for hardware in the office.
Effective interpersonal communication skills, including verbal, written, and training abilities.
Aptitude to work with a range of IFD users with varying skills and business needs, and able to build and maintain positive working relationships with others.
Ability and desire to learn software applications and train employees in their use.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Performance Measures:
Ability to resolve problems, both hardware and software.
Recognition of software problems and ability to find fixes in a timely manner.
Ability to work in cooperation with other IFD team members, particularly the ability to maintain positive working relationships with all departments.
Accomplish, on an annual basis, further education, training, and enrichment, which contributes to the success and continued improvement of the job functions and enhances job performance.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policy.
Generate reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Effectively communicate necessary information.
Work Relationships and Scope: Will have regular interactions with department managers and IFD employees. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of management.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in the main office building and warehouse. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours. There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Early morning, evening and weekend work may be required. Business casual attire is required. PLEASE NOTE:This position requires frequent access to the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building with no ramp or elevator
