Job Title: Maintenance Technician Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt Shift/Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wage: $20-23/hour, based on experience
Position Summary: The maintenance technician is responsible for helping maintain the physical integrity of the facility, grounds, and equipment at all times. This involves insuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility and grounds for all staff and visitors.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
Complete various refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical maintenance and repairs.
Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws, OSHA, USDA, FDA, etc.
Skilled maintenance and repair of forklifts and pallet jacks.
Assist supervisor in determining the needs and supplies for equipment or repairs.
Maintain various records related the Maintenance Department.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policy.
Perform sanitation of the facility as needed.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required The Maintenance Technician must possess the following:
Possess mechanical aptitude - ability to perform a wide variety of skilled journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
Effectively and safely operate a variety of equipment & machines including saws, drill presses, and various hand & power tools, and forklift.
Experience in refrigeration systems a plus.
Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel in wide variety of duties related to the maintenance/sanitation of the facility and grounds.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Work independently with little direction.
Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others.
Meet schedules and deadlines.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
Must reside in the Eau Claire area.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to stand for extended periods of time; ability to carry and transfer boxes; ability to bend, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach; ability to withstand occasional temperature variations as well as working from various heights.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in the warehouse, coolers, freezers, and outdoors; temperatures may vary. Appropriate attire is required.
