A District Sales Representative (DSR) is responsible for selling foodservice goods and services to our Customers as well as generating and following up on new Customer leads.
Manages a geographical sales territory ensuring that independent account business is developed, and budgeted sales and profit objectives are achieved.
Develops and execute business plans to add new accounts, drive penetration and increase sales and profitability of existing accounts.
Provides a high level of service to our Customers during order placement, needs evaluations and in providing solutions, ensuring a smooth sales process.
Demonstrates products using samples.
Oversee and manage set up of new Customer accounts, scheduling of deliveries, order placement, price quotes.
Investigates and resolves Customer concerns and issues.
Develops and maintains relationships with other IFD department personnel.
The Ideal Candidate
Has foodservice experience and knowledge of the food industry; (minimum 2 years foodservice experience or B to B requested). Foodservice experience may include, but is not limited to, chef, foodservice management, foodservice sales, food broker.
Resides within the specified territory.
Reflects a commitment to excellent Customer service.
Displays strong verbal and written communication skills.
Maintains excellent interpersonal skill with ability to quickly build rapport with Customers and suppliers
Easily “talks shop” regarding basic foodservice principals and information such as food costing, menu planning, inventory control, etc.
Is experienced with computers (laptops) and proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook; accurate data entry skills; familiar with CRM software including sales dashboards.
Can apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical foodservice situations.
Possesses reliable transportation, ability to obtain automobile insurance and holdss valid driver’s license with good driving record.
